There are a lot of women who don’t get professional advice because a fear, and I believe that this is one of those fears: the fear of doing the wrong thing, the fear of making a decision that is wrong.
The fear that they’ll make the wrong choice is keeping them from getting help. [00:00:30]
But you know what? Making no decision is also a decision.
Staying stuck is a decision.
Putting your head in the sand is a decision.
And do you think that’s the right decision? That can certainly prolong things. If you don’t face what’s happening, it can get worse. It can escalate.
So what do we do about this fear?
Instead of thinking that we have to have the whole thing solved, we can just focus on the one or two next steps that we can see in front of us.
- We can find support,
- we can do some research into the area of law that we are struggling with,
- we can research lawyers who act in that area who could be right to help you.
- You could research alternate pathways.
- You could make first couple of appointments with the lawyers to find out your options.
You could also do some simple intention setting:
- You want it to be resolved.
- You want relief.
- You want the best possible outcome for everyone.
- You want everything to be okay.
Ultimately, it will be okay; it’s just do you take the hard path or do you take the easier path?
